Pavers are most commonly installed over a compacted base of soil and sand. Because there isn’t any grout between the joints, concrete pavers offer a permeable surface that allows water to pass through. However, this also means that they may shift over time and that weeds could grow between the stones. Hiring a professional paver contractor to install your pavers, rather than laying them yourself, is the best way to protect your patio, driveway or sidewalk from these concerns.

There are five main categories of pavers.

CLAY PAVERS

CONCRETE PAVERS

EQUESTRIAN PAVERS

NATURAL STONE PAVERS

PORCELAIN PAVERS

Solid clay paving brick are hard-fired in computer-controlled kilns at high temperatures to fuse the clay particles for maximum strength. This hard-firing creates rich, natural colors that are impervious to ultraviolet radiation, which often causes artificially colored concrete pavers to fade. Additionally, the clay paver surface is stain-resistant.

Concrete pavers are made with a dry concrete mix containing cement, sand, gravel, and pigments. They are manufactured to high standards, creating a durable and uniform product. Available in a range of colors, shapes and sizes, concrete pavers are a versatile option for outdoor spaces to meet any specific architectural or beautification needs. They are low cost and low maintenance, which is why they are so popular.
